Volunteers
A community of approximately 20 young people lives and works on the Hava & Adam Ecological Farm site at any given time. This community is made up of young Israelis who volunteer for 1-2 years in the Israel National Service shnat sherut (prior to or in lieu of military service), Israel Defense Forces Nahal groups (a special military division traditionally combining military service with agricultural work) and other volunteers from both Israel and abroad.
We welcome additional volunteers for short term or extended periods, please contact us.
In a joint program with the Zionist Youth Movement Young Judaea, teens from the USA spend three months on the Farm site volunteering and learning about the Land of Israel and the Jewish people.

We also host ECO-ISRAEL, a 5-month volunteer program for English speaking young adults aged 20-30. We offer this program in cooperation with MASA, a program of the Jewish Agency. Participants live and study on the farm for 5 months and earn an internationally recognized certificate in Permaculture Design. The program introduces them to:
- Soil management
- Plant propagation, permaculture living skills
- Local ecology
- Water harvesting, storage and use strategies
- Plant medicine
- Animal care
- Israeli agricultural history and Jewish land ethics
- Introduction to mud building, bio-diesel production, recycling
- Organic food production and preparation
- Exploration of Judaism and Ecology
- History of modern Israel and Zionism
- Hebrew language studies (ulpan)
This program offers a unique opportunity to:
- Create a dynamic self-reliant community together with Israeli volunteers
- Work the land in harmony with Jewish cycles, seasons and the Hebrew calendar
- Develop a land-based Jewish identity
- Explore Israel on field trips and hikes
- Volunteer in the community
