Eco Israel
A 5-month residential program, Eco-Israel combines Judaism and ecology for English-speaking young adults interested in “Living the Land”. Specifically designed to the Israeli landscape and Jewish mindset, the Eco-Israel program is for young adults ages 20-30. The Eco-Israel Program is designed to enable the young international Jewish community to experience a land-based Israel connection. Participants learn Jewish sources in the ecological context and work the land within the seasons and cycle of the Jewish calendar, allowing them to develop a sense of the depth of Judaism and to create a model by which they can identify with the issues that are most relevant to their lives. They learn about organic agriculture, permaculture living skills, plant and craft culture, Israeli history and Jewish land ethics as well as becoming acquainted with the country through hikes and field trips, learning Hebrew and much more.
